SUMMARY:NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course
DESCRIPTION:This NRA Basic Shotgun course is ten hours long and includes both classroom and range time instruction on how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. Students will learn the NRA rules for safe gun handling\, parts of a shotgun\, different types of shotguns\, operation\, ammunition\, shooting fundamentals\, range rules\, and how to clean a shotgun. In addition to classroom instruction students will complete a live fire training exercise at a range with an NRA Certified Instructor. \nStudents will receive the NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook and the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program book. At the successful completion of the class\, students will also receive an NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course certificate. This class includes a live-fire exercise so bring your shotgun and ammunition (50 shells\, shot size 7.5 or 8\, no slugs). DESCRIPTION:This 11-hour course teaches the knowledge\, skills and attitude essential to organizing\, promoting and teaching NRA’s Shotgun Instructor Shooting course. Instructor candidates will demonstrate organizational and teaching skills while participating in practical exercises\, complete an instructor certification examination\, and complete the shooting qualification shooting prone\, benchrest\, and standing. \nThere are certain prerequisites that must be completed before being allowed to take the NRA Shotgun Instructure class. Students must possess basic firearm safety and shooting skills as a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training\, candidates must complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises. Students must have taken NRA Basic Shotgun course and have passed it with a 90% and have taken Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last 2 years. DESCRIPTION:This 8-hour course provides the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential for training and supervising NRA Range Safety Officers and developing range standard operating procedures. \nNRA Chief Range Safety Officer candidates should be experienced shooters\, actively involved in various aspects of target shooting\, training\, and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to expand their knowledge and take responsibility for the safety of fellow shooters through this program. Course sessions cover a wide range of topics\, including standard operating procedures\, inspections\, emergency protocols\, firearm stoppages and malfunctions\, and safety briefings. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their organizational and teaching abilities through practical exercises\, and they will complete an open-book exam. SUMMARY:NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course
DESCRIPTION:If you are interested getting your Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL)\, this is the class you need to take. The class is 8 hours long and includes both classroom and range time. The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. Course topics include gun safety rules\, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols\, ammunition knowledge and selection\, pistol selection and storage\, shooting fundamentals\, pistol inspection and maintenance\, marksmanship\, shooting range safety\, and Maryland law regarding the use and possession of firearms. Students will be able to see and handle a large variety of different types of handguns during the class. \nIn addition to classroom instruction students will complete a live fire training exercise at a range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program book. At the successful completion of the class\, students will also receive an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course certificate and be able to apply for your Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). If you own a handgun\, please bring it with you to class along with eye protection\, ear protection\, and 150 rounds of ammunition. Please leave your ammunition in your car.
